PAST PROJECTS

YOUTH ECONOMIC AND
EMPOWERMENT PROJECT

Through the Youth Economic and Empowerment Project (YEEP), DIN Malawi promoted employment opportunities related to agriculture, microbusinesses, and business for rural youth in an effort to reduce poverty rates in Chikwawa. Importantly, YEEP raised awareness and encouraged the development of village saving loans, a more effective alternative to exorbitant loan shark lending rates, allowing rural youth to escape from the vicious cycle of poverty.

MEET 50:50 CAMPAIGN

The Meet 50:50 Campaign, also known as the Strengthening Women’s Role and Participation in Politics Project, sought to increase the role of women in Chikwawa's electoral politics by having DIN Malawi publicly support the participation of women campaigning for seats and raise awareness of women in public leadership positions. This campaign was funded by ActionAid International and the Norwegian Embassy.
