SUPPORTING MTHUMBA
Objective: To reconstruct Mthumba's Community Based Childcare Centre and restore the healthy development of its local children, both destroyed due to Cyclone Ana.
DIN Malawi is financing a large majority of reconstruction process which mainly involves refurbishing the restroom and kitchen areas while also rebuilding the building's roof and floor. Repainting its exterior and establishing flood prevention strategies, such as planting trees nearby, will also be financed by DN Malawi. As of now, roughly 94% of the renovation project has been completed. In addition to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for the approximately 104 children in the area, this space will also be utilized to host community gatherings and as a source of revenue by hosting commercial and cultural events by external companies.
